Water
Element Series
Water – the essence of our life.
Have you ever had the feeling that life is too much, that your emotions are overflowing and you feel like you are drowning – unable to reach higher ground? Have you ever judged yourself for what you are feeling, for your highs and your lows?
Water teaches us to be soft. Water allows us to swim within the river of life. Flowing as a little creek through valleys, over mountains, into the forests of this earth, facing obstacles and skilfully finding our way around them. Velvet and fluid but strong – capable of forming rocks.
The element of water represents the emotional aspect of our being. Sometimes we feel like a waterfall bursting through the rocks over the horizon, falling heavy onto the earth and with a rainbow shimmering through our mist, we surely know that everything is possible. And at other times, we feel like a slow, tired creek, that hasn’t felt the touch of in months – unable to make our way forward. The secret that water is sharing with us, is that no matter what we feel, how deeply we feel or how numb we are, we are all made out of the same small drop of ocean. We are children of this vast pool of infinite possibilities, of wonderful creatures, of storms and sunshine, of ebbs and flows.
It matters. Whatever you feel, it matters and it is okay. Because you know, this too shall pass. Every emotion and every thought are just passing through us. Surely they are moving and sometimes crushing over us like a huge wave, tumbling us around – but eventually we will find that when we learn to listen and to accept, growth is waiting for us.
Water nourishes our soul and teaches us to be kind to our selves.
Listen to your body. Listen to your emotions, both to the loud and roaring ones as well as to the quiet and subtle ones. They want to be heard. They want to be felt. Dwell within this feeling and allow yourself to simply be. Without any judgement, distraction or doubt. And the most important part: Send LOVE to whatever you are going through and then gently within this loving hug, after experiencing and enjoying each aspect of the emotion, let it go.
We are all going through phases of rain and drought. We cry, we scream, we laugh, we love, we grief, we fall silent. EMBRACE IT!
- Dance it out.
- Write it down.
- Share your love.
We are all one. One drop of ocean.
